Management Team
Ken Wood - Founder and Director
A natural entrepreneur, Ken has been involved with the training industry for the last 15 years. Having set up Corporate Learning and running the company for many years, he began developing the Course-Source LMS in 2000, launching the company in 2001. With a Computer
Science degree and a wealth of business understanding, Ken has the ability to envision how technology can be best used to deliver results, and adapted to provide customised solutions to client issues.
Chris Pendse - Operations Director
Chris has been working in the IT industry for 14 years and likes to think of himself as a ‘creative’ rather than a ‘techie’. Graduating from Sussex University in Brighton, he worked in technical support before moving into a client facing role first as technical consultant and then implementation manager. He joined Ken Wood at Corporate Learning, getting involved in the launch of Course-Source.
Paul Higgins - Director of Sales and Marketing
Paul has been involved in the Education and Training industry for the last 10 years. Up to date with current trends in this rapidly changing environment, Paul has developed an extensive knowledge of client needs. His management experience covers all areas of e-learning including consultancy services, implementation, client adoption techniques and marketing to organisations with differing requirements that included structured, informal, blended and Social learning.
Laurence Wilson - Head of Instructional Design
Laurence is a CIPD member with 30 years corporate training experience who has tracked the progress of e-learning since the early days when computer-based training and interactive video were new technologies. He has particular expertise in the field of blended learning. Laurence has designed, developed and delivered countless corporate bespoke e-learning programmes and has won a National Training Award for his bespoke development in the medical field. He also teaches e-learning development. Laurence worked previously as the Director of a national recruitment agency, Hestair Management Services which, together with Manpower Ltd trained the majority of the UK’s recruitment consultants in the 1980’s.
Matt Lyons - Lead Developer
Matt has worked in web development since graduating from Sussex University in 1996 on projects ranging from Intranet applications for industrial clients to e-commerce for leading sports bookmakers and content managment systems for AOL dealing with millions of end users. Matt joined Course Source in the spring of 2007 and has instigated a number of projects to implement industry best practice within the development team as well as working on the foundations of the next generation of the Course Source learning management system.
